We are thrilled to welcome John Schoettler, Vice President of Amazon’s Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) as this year’s keynote speaker. John is GREF’s mission is to provide a secure, sustainable, efficient, and collaborative work environment that enables Amazon employees to collaborate, innovate, and delight customers. Over the past 23 years, John’s team has grown Amazon’s corporate real estate portfolio from 1M square feet to more than 60M square feet in more than 60 countries. Additionally, John’s team oversees the Amazon Global Environmental Health and Safety & Sustainability and Global Corporate Travel & Events teams. John is deeply committed to the community. His foresight and leadership led to Amazon’s collaboration with community organizations such as Northwest Center, FareStart, JazzED, and Mary’s Place. His vision to create a temporary homeless shelter in a repurposed motel for more than 250 families led to the development of a permanent shelter on Amazon’s Seattle campus for the families Mary’s Place serves. John is also the past Chair of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce and he serves on the Seattle Children’s Hospital Board and Washington State University Board of Regents.
